Feel good, look good chocolate tahini adaptogen balls
After experimenting with adaptogens in my smoothies, lattes and teas for the last several months, and seeing major improvements in my mood and general daily functioning, I figured it would be a good idea to use these healing powders to enhance more of the foods I eat throughout the day.
Enter the feel good, look good chocolate tahini adaptogen beauty ball.
Adaptogens are a special class of herbs and mushrooms that are believed to strengthen the body’s response at a cellular level to resist the negative effects of stress. There are many different kinds of adaptogens, each of which may be used to strengthen our bodies in different ways; but studies have confirmed that, as a group, adaptogens have promising effects on our central nervous system and can help fight off the physiological effects of stress to minimize our physical reactions to it - including improving our attentions and reducing feelings of fatigue.
These balls include ashwagandha, maca, cacao and pearl, along with a slew of other super star ingredients known to support digestion, strong hair and nails, and much more. They’re sweet and light, and at the same time a super filling and satisfying snack.
Feel good, look good chocolate tahini adaptogen balls
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 5 minutes | Yields: 12 balls
Ingredients
1 cup shredded coconut (+ 1/2 cup for coating)
3 tbsp raw tahini
2 dates
2 tbsp coconut nectar
2 tbsp coconut butter
2 tbsp chia seeds
1/3 cup walnuts
1 tbsp maca powder
1 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp Ashwagandha
1 tbsp pearl
Directions
Add all ingredients to a food processor and pulse until they form a thick paste.
Use hands or a spoon to scoop the paste and form into balls. Lay out on a piece of parchment paper (makes 10-12 small balls or 6-8 bigger ones).
Add 1/2 cup of shredded coconut to small bowl. One at a time, roll and press the balls in the coconut shreds to coat them.
Place balls in an air tight container in the fridge to firm before eating. Good for up to 1 week in the fridge, or a few weeks in the freezer (if freezing, allow to thaw for 10 minutes before eating).
