Clean, fast and easy plant-based air-fried oyster mushrooms
It’s been a minute since I whipped out my air fryer.
While I may have forgotten about this nifty little kitchen appliance, the truth is that I absolutely love it.
Air fryers are similar to ovens, in that you can bake and roast all sorts of things but the main difference is that the heating elements are only located on top, including a large powerful fan, resulting in food that’s ultra crispy and ready in no time.
But my absolute favorite part of air frying is that food requires much less oil than if you were to deep fry it. I mean, you truly use little to no oil at all!
If you have an air fryer at home, these tamari and garlic fried oyster mushrooms are a must try.
They’re light, packed with flavor, and make for the perfect meaty little side dish or snack.
Check out the recipe below. I hope you love it as much as I do.
Garlic and Tamari Air Fried Oyster Mushrooms
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 15-20 minutes | Yields: 1-2 servings
Ingredients:
2 cups oyster mushrooms, rinsed well and patted dry
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tbsp tamari
1 tsp avocado oil (optional)
2 tsp of sesame seeds or furikake (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Add mushrooms to bowl then toss with garlic, tamari and avocado oil.
Air fry at 360°F for 10-15 minutes, shaking and stirring about halfway through. If you're cooking a lot of mushrooms, stir about three times for even cooking.
Remove mushrooms from air fryer and transfer to plate. Top with sesame seeds or furikake for garnish and a nice pop of flavor!
